Who likes to do the November challenge of last year (2020)?
Recently, Wendy had the brilliant idea, that those of the accordion love members who joined later could do the November challenge of 2020, too. There's no reward, no t-shirt, but the reward to learn more and to discuss each other's entries. Who ever likes it may post the semi-tone improv until the end of November 2021 in this sub forum. We could do the same for December 2020 in December 2021. Way go!

Why not Reeka ! If someone wants to try this or other challenges I don’t see why he would not do it
be free to post !

Great idea, Reeka. I'll mention it in my email this week.
Re: Who likes to do the November challenge of last year (2020)?
I can see 37 entries for last year, and I've looked at one or two of them, including one from Ronen, but I can't see one explaining what the challenge is, and, excuse my ignorance, I can't work out exactly what is expected of me.
Re: Who likes to do the November challenge of last year (2020)?
The challenge was to use semitones and slide up or down to the melody note.
How to find the November 2020 challenge explanation?
Steve, first I didn't find the lesson aobut semit-tones either, but actually it's easy:
Start from Ronen's own challenge entry and follow the link directly beneath Rone's video (it's a bit hard to discover, because the letters are small).
OR:
Go to the accordionlove.com website, to the section "Beyond The Basics" --> Right hand technique --> Using Semi-tones in Melodies. There you find three explaining videos, and the video for the challenge of Nov. 2020.
Would love to see some trials while I'm still noodling around with the impro

Thank you Anna and Reeka I now understand. What a useful tool(!) I'll give it a go.

Don't know if anybody picks up the idea, but here is what I did with semit-tones and sliding up one year after the original challenge, and without any pressure.

It's just an exploring what happens, nothing you will like to listen to. Sliding up or down seems to be different in effect from clear semi-tones. The hardest thing was the improvisation over C and G. After doing that I will use it for sure in a song some time.

Hi Reeka and well done!
I'm still finding this very difficult. I've just managed to add one half-tone to the beginning of my Nov 2021 entry (the Vamp) and that's it for my Nov. 2020 attempt - but I'm still planning on carrying on with doing the challenges I missed. See you in the December 2020 and December 2021 challenges!

Hi Reeka, I was noodling with the idea of redoing all the last year's challenges, especially since I didn't realize Ronen was going to keep making new monthly challenges into this second year. I started at the beginning, and found all of the challenges to be incredibly helpful in my playing. Even the ones that "seemed super simple" triggered some learning or new way of thinking that had been in a "blind spot" for me.
Great job on your semitone tune!
Here's my (very short) November 2020 submission:
