Accordion Christmas Music

11 Lessons

The songs in this section can be played on solo accordion, but work great when accompanying voice – either your own or carolers (see how to accompany yourself and others in this course).

The wonderful thing about Christmas songs on the accordion is that you have the advantage of knowing these songs. I assume you’ve been listening and singing these songs since childhood. And the first step to learning a song (see this guide on memorizing a song) is to know it and be able to sing it. What better songs to know than Christmas songs?

There are Christmas songs for all accordion difficulty levels. Silent Night and Jingle Bells are great beginner accordion songs – just two or three major chords. Green Sleeves, ‘We Three Kings’ and ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’ are songs in a minor key that introduce some beautiful chord progressions. And ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ and ‘Christmas Time Is Here’ are beautiful and challenging pieces.
